Closing Date: May 31, 2022
We are looking for a research scientist with an expertise in electronics and/or photonics to join the development of an integrated quantum photonics platform, with a focus on integrated single-photon avalanche detectors (SPADs). The candidate will be chiefly responsible for leading the development of active-quenching control circuitry for SPADs, and integrating them with a rigorous and high-throughput device characterization process.
The project areas the successful candidate will work on include:
Design, test, and implement control circuitry for operating integrated single-photon detector devices
Design and construct opto-electronic test stations for device testing
Experimentally characterize fabricated devices (bare chips and packaged devices)
Integrate the SPADS with a wider integrated quantum photonics platform
Establish higher levels of electronics expertise and capabilities within the research group
Interested applicants can apply here.

We are looking for a research scientist for a project in the field of quantum and nonlinear optics. The project is related to quantum interferometry of correlated photon pairs and its application in broadband infrared micro-spectroscopy of a specimen (D. Kalashnikov et al, Nature Photonics 10, 98 (2016); A. Paterova et al, Science Advances 6(44), eabd0460 (2020)).
The successful candidate will carry out the following work:
Develop new schemes of quantum interferometry for high-resolution infrared micro-spectroscopy
Perform experimental realisation of the schemes in the optics laboratory
Study new types of nonlinear crystals to improve the performance of the quantum interferometry technique
Perform simple automation of the experimental setup by software programming of scientific instruments, such as translation stages, sensors, etc
Interpret and analyse obtained experimental results
Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team of researchers
Interested applicants can apply here.
